Dakota (song) - Writing

Writing

On 7 November 2007 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, Stereophonics lead singer Kelly Jones announced that some of the lyrics to this song were written whilst staying in "a crap hotel in Paris". One of the song's signature lines, "take a look at me now", was first used - in a similar melody - in their earlier single "Since I Told You It's Over".

Famous quotes containing the word writing:

All writers are vain, selfish and lazy, and at the very bottom of their motives lies a mystery. Writing a book is a long, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

The Twist was a guided missile, launched from the ghetto into the very heart of suburbia. The Twist succeeded, as politics, religion, and law could never do, in writing in the heart and soul what the Supreme Court could only write on the books.
    Eldridge Cleaver (b. 1935)

No race can prosper till it learns there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem.
    Booker T. Washington (1856–1915)
