Cosmic Gate - History

History

Formed in 1999, Cosmic Gate's first single was "Exploration of Space", followed by "The Drums", "Mental Atmosphere" and their "Somewhere over the Rainbow" remix using samples from the film, "The Wizard of Oz". However, Cosmic Gate did not become well known until their single "Fire Wire" was released in the UK in 2001.

Cosmic Gate have made many remixes for artists such as DJ Tiƫsto (Urban Train), Ferry Corsten (Punk), Blank & Jones (DFF), Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (Somewhere Over The Rainbow), Svenson & Gielen (Answer the Question) and Vanessa-Mae (White Bird).

Over the past few years, Cosmic Gate's sound has developed and moved away from the harder edge trance through to their current, more subtle yet still driving energetic music style.

Recent touring has improved Cosmic Gate's recognition.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Yet poetry, though the last and finest result, is a natural fruit. As naturally as the oak bears an acorn, and the vine a gourd, man bears a poem, either spoken or done. It is the chief and most memorable success, for history is but a prose narrative of poetic deeds.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

It’s nice to be a part of history but people should get it right. I may not be perfect, but I’m bloody close.
    John Lydon (formerly Johnny Rotten)

Psychology keeps trying to vindicate human nature. History keeps undermining the effort.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
