Corrib Celtic F.C. - Academy

Academy

The Corrib Celtic Academy for the younger members of the club (u10 and younger) was set up in 2009 and runs in the Corrandulla National School grounds on a Saturday. With an emphasis of fun and everyone playing the game, much fun has been had by all involved and it is hoped that the players will go on to play for the u11's and upwards in the Galway District League in the coming years. The teams in the academy often play in blitz's organised by local clubs during the course of the academy season.

Famous quotes containing the word academy:

I realized early on that the academy and the literary world alike—and I don’t think there really is a distinction between the two—are always dominated by fools, knaves, charlatans and bureaucrats. And that being the case, any human being, male or female, of whatever status, who has a voice of her or his own, is not going to be liked.
    Harold Bloom (b. 1930)

...I have come to make distinctions between what I call the academy and literature, the moral equivalents of church and God. The academy may lie, but literature tries to tell the truth.
    Dorothy Allison (b. 1949)

When the State wishes to endow an academy or university, it grants it a tract of forest land: one saw represents an academy, a gang, a university.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
