Earthquake of April 6, 2009

The devastating earthquake that struck L'Aquila and its province has severely damaged the church and its bell tower, with the removal of the latter, a symbol of the country as unsafe. Also severely damaged many houses in the old town, which has seen the total evacuation of the people who lived there. For these damages, without luck that there were victims, the town of Civitella returned to the Legislative Decree on the list of common earthquake, known as "crater", which has received benefits, subsidies and aid in economic terms, such as the project MAP (Modules Temporary Premises), or 15 wooden houses for 15 families displaced in the country. Famous quotes containing the words earthquake and/or april:

    It is crystal clear to me that if Arabs put down a draft resolution blaming Israel for the recent earthquake in Iran it would probably have a majority, the U.S. would veto it and Britain and France would abstain.
    Amos Oz (b. 1939)

    No April can revive thy withered flowers,
    Whose blooming grace adorns thy glory now;
    Swift speeding Time, feathered with flying hours,
    Dissolves the beauty of the fairest brow.
    Oh let not then such riches waste in vain,
    But love whilst that thou mayst be loved again.
    Samuel Daniel (1562–1619)
