Other Australia Day Fireworks in Perth

In 2007, Fremantle held a small fireworks show for about 30,000 people as an alternative to Skyworks. Hillarys, Mindarie, Bassendean, Armadale and Wanneroo also held small fireworks shows.

Famous quotes containing the words australia, day, fireworks and/or perth:

It is very considerably smaller than Australia and British Somaliland put together. As things stand at present there is nothing much the Texans can do about this, and ... they are inclined to shy away from the subject in ordinary conversation, muttering defensively about the size of oranges.
Alex Atkinson, British humor writer. repr. In Present Laughter, ed. Alan Coren (1982)

An hour of winter day might seem too short
To make it worth life’s while to wake and sport.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Parents can fail to cheer your successes as wildly as you expected, pointing out that you are sharing your Nobel Prize with a couple of other people, or that your Oscar was for supporting actress, not really for a starring role. Frank Pittman (20th century)

To motorists bound to or from the Jersey shore, Perth Amboy consists of five traffic lights that sometimes tie up week-end traffic for miles. While cars creep along or come to a prolonged halt, drivers lean out to discuss with each other this red menace to freedom of the road.
