Chris Wallace - Political Affiliation

Political Affiliation

On October 11, 2006, The Washington Post revealed that Wallace had been a registered Democrat for more than two decades. Wallace explained his party affiliation in terms of pragmatism, insisting that being a Democrat is the only feasible means of participating in the political process in heavily Democratic Washington, D.C. He maintained he had voted for candidates from both major parties in the past. This same explanation was used by the late conservative commentator Robert D. Novak in explaining his registration as a Democrat while residing in the District of Columbia.

Famous quotes containing the words political and/or affiliation:

Although knaves win in every political struggle, although society seems to be delivered over from the hands of one set of criminals into the hands of another set of criminals, as fast as the government is changed, and the march of civilization is a train of felonies, yet, general ends are somehow answered.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Men seem more bound to the wheel of success than women do. That women are trained to get satisfaction from affiliation rather than achievement has tended to keep them from great achievement. But it has also freed them from unreasonable expectations about the satisfactions that professional achievement brings.
    Phyllis Rose (b. 1942)
