Political Views

He appeared on the government's television advertisement for the 2012 Legislative Council election reforms, in which he urged people to take their opportunity if they want to score a goal. Famous quotes containing the words political and/or views:

To say “I accept” in an age like our own is to say that you accept concentration-camps, rubber truncheons, Hitler, Stalin, bombs, aeroplanes, tinned food, machine guns, putsches, purges, slogans, Bedaux belts, gas-masks, submarines, spies, provocateurs, press-censorship, secret prisons, aspirins, Hollywood films and political murder.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

It is even more grim and wild than you had anticipated, a damp and intricate wilderness, in the spring everywhere wet and miry. The aspect of the country, indeed, is universally stern and savage, excepting the distant views of the forest from hills, and the lake prospects, which are mild and civilizing in a degree.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
