Famous quotes containing the words parts of, parts and/or body:
“It is now many years that men have resorted to the forest for fuel and the materials of the arts: the New Englander and the New Hollander, the Parisian and the Celt, the farmer and Robin Hood, Goody Blake and Harry Gill; in most parts of the world, the prince and the peasant, the scholar and the savage, equally require still a few sticks from the forest to warm them and cook their food. Neither could I do without them.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The Pacts and Covenants, by which the parts of this Body Politique were at first made, set together, and united, resemble that Fiat, or the Let us make man, pronounced by God in the Creation.”
—Thomas Hobbes (15791688)
“Sang a bone upon the shore;
A man if I but held him so
When my body was alive
Found all the pleasure that life gave:
A bone wave-whitened and dried in the wind.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
