Buying Super De Boer
On the 18th September 2009, supermarketcompany Jumbo (supermarket) bid on Super de Boer. The intention was for Schuitema to buy Super de Boer from the French Groupe Casino.
First Schuitema was getting revenge to buying it with an other supermarketgroup Sperwer, the home of the Dutch Plus formula. They almost bid, but on 5 October 2009 Schuitema make the transfer to no one else then Jumbo (supermarket). Sperwer created an alliance with Schuitema mother Ahold. But the rivalising bid from Jumbo/Schuitema was better. The Groupe Casino 54% owner from Super de Boer give green light to the bidders. Jumbo buys it for 553 million euro. On 7 December 2009 the NMa the competition regulator from the Netherlands. Was giving here green light. On 8 December 2009 the shareholders from Super de Boer were also giving here green light. The transaction was closed on 18 December 2009.
