Burlington Township School District

The Burlington Township School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade from Burlington Township, in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.

During the 2007-08 school year, the district's then six schools had an enrollment of 4,146 students and 252.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.5.

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

The school district is well known for its theater program. The PAC (Performing Arts Center) is the housing for all musicals, concerts, plays, and showcases. The PAC has 800 seats and a full back-stage set up. One could say that the Arts are more important than sports in this school district.

Famous quotes containing the words township, school and/or district:

The most interesting thing which I heard of, in this township of Hull, was an unfailing spring, whose locality was pointed out to me on the side of a distant hill, as I was panting along the shore, though I did not visit it. Perhaps, if I should go through Rome, it would be some spring on the Capitoline Hill I should remember the longest.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

A man who graduated high in his class at Yale Law School and made partnership in a top law firm would be celebrated. A man who invested wisely would be admired, but a woman who accomplishes this is treated with suspicion.
    Barbra Streisand (b. 1942)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)
