Brooks Kieschnick - Post-playing Days

Post-playing Days

In 2002, in an online poll conducted in Austin, Kieschnick was voted the best baseball player in the history of the University of Texas. He became one of ten inaugural members of the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006 and on March 29, 2009, Kieschnick had his number 23 retired by the University of Texas.

Kieschnick's nephew is Roger Kieschnick, who was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the third round (and 82nd overall selection) of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft.

Famous quotes containing the word days:

Every incident connected with the breaking up of the rivers and ponds and the settling of the weather is particularly interesting to us who live in a climate of so great extremes. When the warmer days come, they who dwell near the river hear the ice crack at night with a startling whoop as loud as artillery, as if its icy fetters were rent from end to end, and within a few days see it rapidly going out. So the alligator comes out of the mud with quakings of the earth.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
