Booka Shade - History

History

After beginning as a synth-pop duo (having been compared to Underworld), they have transitioned to creating club music. Their releases resulted in European imprints like R&S Records and Harthouse.

In 2002, the duo founded Get Physical Records with DJ T. and M.A.N.D.Y..

Their 2005 singles Mandarine Girl and Body Language (with M.A.N.D.Y.) were widely played in clubs and licensed on many mix CDs.

They were featured on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix on July 2, 2006.

Resident Advisor called the song Body Language "one of the biggest releases of the year.". Body Language has been used as a sample by will.i.am in the song Get Your Money from his album Songs About Girls. It also appears in the video game Forza Motorsport 2 for Xbox 360, as the M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade version.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is my conviction that women are the natural orators of the race.
Eliza Archard Connor, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 9, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)

We don’t know when our name came into being or how some distant ancestor acquired it. We don’t understand our name at all, we don’t know its history and yet we bear it with exalted fidelity, we merge with it, we like it, we are ridiculously proud of it as if we had thought it up ourselves in a moment of brilliant inspiration.
    Milan Kundera (b. 1929)

When the history of guilt is written, parents who refuse their children money will be right up there in the Top Ten.
    Erma Brombeck (20th century)
