General Managers
After 21 seasons, Mike Shirley announced in February 2012 that he was stepping down as general manager and president. He is succeeded by Alan Moore, the former vice president of finance. Shirley was a former vice president with Morrison-Knudsen Co. and initially hired as an interim manager after the resignation of Terry Lofsvold in November 1991. After the search committee determined he was the best candidate, he was hired in April, the first general manager at Bogus with an extensive background in finance.

Famous quotes containing the words general and/or managers:
“The reputation of generosity is to be purchased pretty cheap; it does not depend so much upon a mans general expense, as it does upon his giving handsomely where it is proper to give at all. A man, for instance, who should give a servant four shillings, would pass for covetous, while he who gave him a crown, would be reckoned generous; so that the difference of those two opposite characters, turns upon one shilling.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (16941773)
“We also have to make sure our children know the history of women. Tell them the rotten truth: It wasnt always possible for women to become doctors or managers or insurance people. Let them be armed with a true picture of the way we want it to be.”
—Anne Roiphe (20th century)
