Blue Lantern Corps - Oath

Oath

Just as the Green Lanterns and other Lantern Corps recharge their own rings, the following is the oath used by Blue Lanterns to recharge their blue power rings:

In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright!

—Ganthet and Sayd, Green Lantern vol. 4 #36 (December 2008)

Famous quotes containing the word oath:

If its individual citizens, to a man, are to be believed, it always is depressed, and always is stagnated, and always is at an alarming crisis, and never was otherwise; though as a body, they are ready to make oath upon the Evangelists, at any hour of the day or night, that it is the most thriving and prosperous of all countries on the habitable globe.
    Charles Dickens (1812–1870)

On principle I dislike an oath which requires a man to swear he has not done wrong. It rejects the Christian principle of forgiveness on terms of repentance. I think it is enough if the man does no wrong hereafter.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

Figure a man’s only good for one oath at a time. I took mine to the Confederate States of America.
    Frank S. Nugent (1908–1965)
