The Blekinge Institute of Technology (Swedish: Blekinge Tekniska Högskola) (BTH) is a public, state funded Swedish Institute of technology in Blekinge with more than 8,000 students (part-time, full-time) and offers 350 courses in 40 educational programmes in five schools at two campuses located in Karlskrona and Karlshamn.
BTH is one of three independent institutes of technology in Sweden and in 1999 it was granted university status in technology. Among a large number of programmes and courses taught in Swedish, BTH offers two undergraduate programmes and about 18 Master's programmes in English.
The institute focuses on applied information technology and sustainable development; additionally also offers programs in management, economy, health, planning, social science and the humanities.
Blekinge Institute of Technology is located in the Telecom City area and works closely together with many telecommunications and software companies including Telenor, Ericsson AB and Wireless Independent Provider (WIP).
