Blackpool Tramway - Tramcar Fleet

Tramcar Fleet

The Blackpool tramway has a varied fleet of tramcars. The standard livery being introduced is one featuring purple fronts, with cream sides and a purple criss cross pattern on the lower sides. The heritage tramcars mostly use the traditional green and cream livery of BTS, in various styles from the 1930s to the 1980s with some older cars using the older red and cream livery. Some trams carry colourful all-over advertisements.

The Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations have seen the overall fleet divided into three individual fleets. The 'A' Fleet is made up of the 16 new Flexity 2 vehicles, which are fully compliant with the RVAR. The 'B' fleet is formed from 11 converted double-deck vehicles that have partial exemption through their partial conversion to improve accessibility. The 'C' fleet is the fully exempt heritage fleet.

The operational fleet that started work from the 4th April 2012 is:

Famous quotes containing the word fleet:

Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly today,
Were to change by tomorrow, and fleet in my arms,
    Like fairy-gifts fading away.
    Thomas Moore (1779–1852)
