Big Day was considered "One of the Worst TV comedies Ever Killed" and "One of the Most Hated Comedy Series Ever". Metacritic indicated that 39% of critics gave the show widely negative to poor reviews. The show's negative criticism mostly focused on Wendie Malick, who played Jane on the show.
