BBC London 94.9 (previously known as BBC London Live, Greater London Radio and Radio London) is London's BBC Local Radio station and part of the broader BBC London network. The station broadcasts across the Greater London division, and beyond, on the 94.9 FM frequency, DAB, Virgin Media Channel 930, Sky Channel 0152 (in the London area only) and is also streamed online. Although the station is only on the Sky Digital EPG in London, it is still available on Sky, via manual tuning, for the rest of the United Kingdom in this format.
The station's output is generally similar to other BBC Local Radio stations and targets a broad, mainstream audience. Whilst previous incarnations of the station offered a more diverse range of programmes for London's various ethnic, religious, social and cultural communities, specialist programming now remains in a smaller form and is mostly broadcast during weekend times.
Most programmes on 94.9 are speech-heavy (including interviews, studio guests, banter between presenters and phone-ins), but many also feature music in varying quantities. The musical diversity of the station is the foremost element that differentiates BBC London 94.9 from London's other major, speech-based radio station, LBC 97.3.
BBC London 94.9's managing editor is David Robey and its primary news journalist is Jason Rosam.
BCC London 94.9 broadcast news and weather every fifteen minutes at Breakfast and Drivetime and every half an hour at all other times.

Famous quotes containing the words bbc and/or london:
“The word conservative is used by the BBC as a portmanteau word of abuse for anyone whose views differ from the insufferable, smug, sanctimonious, naive, guilt-ridden, wet, pink orthodoxy of that sunset home of the third-rate minds of that third-rate decade, the nineteen-sixties.”
—Norman Tebbit (b. 1931)
“You find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”
—Samuel Johnson (17091784)
