Famous quotes containing the word bathing:

    “... Can poet’s thought
    That springs from body and in body falls
    Like this pure jet, now lost amid blue sky,
    Now bathing lily leaf and fish’s scale,
    Be mimicry?”
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    Beauty sat bathing by a spring,
    Where fairest shades did hide her;
    The winds blew calm, the birds did sing,
    The cool streams ran beside her.
    My wanton thoughts enticed mine eye
    To see what was forbidden:
    But better memory said Fie;
    So vain desire was chidden—
    Anthony Munday (1553–1633)

    Underneath my stiffened gown
    Is the softness of a woman bathing in a marble basin,
    Amy Lowell (1874–1925)
