Rutten currently lives in Westlake Village, California with his wife Karin and two daughters Sabine who is 15, and Bianca who is 11. Bas has a 22 year old daughter named Rachele who lives in the Netherlands with her mother.
Rutten is known by the moniker "El Guapo", which means "The Handsome One" in Spanish. Rutten recently became a citizen of the United States.
