Future of The School
Barrie Central Collegiate and the four other secondary schools in Barrie are currently involved in an Accommodation Review Process, to create a recommendation to submit to the Simcoe Country School Board, deciding the fate of Barrie Central. The Accommodation Review Committee (ARC), will either recommend that Barrie Central remain open, or be closed due to costs of repair to the building. There is a strong will from within the school and in the surrounding community to keep Barrie Central open. The Simcoe County School Board Trustees will make a decision in March or April 2011.
On June 2nd, 2011 the Simcoe County District School Board of trustees decided that Barrie Central Collegiate will remain open for at least another five years. Its future relies upon the school board forming solid partnerships by September 30, 2014.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or school:
“The difference between Pound and Whitman is not between the democrat who in deep distress could look hopefully toward the future and the fascist madly in love with the past. It is that between the woodsman and the woodcarver. It is that between the mystic harking back to his vision and the artist whose first allegiance is to his craft, and so to the reality it presents.”
—Babette Deutsch (18951982)
“In truth, the legitimate contention is, not of one age or school of literary art against another, but of all successive schools alike, against the stupidity which is dead to the substance, and the vulgarity which is dead to form.”
—Walter Pater (18391894)
