Baron Louth is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1541 for Sir Oliver Plunkett. His great-great-great-grandson, the seventh Baron, served as Lord Lieutenant of County Louth. However, he later supported King James II and was outlawed. His great-great-grandson, the eleventh Baron, managed to obtain a reversal of the outlawry and was restored to the title. As of 2010 the title is held by the latter's great-great-great-grandson, the sixteenth Baron, who succeeded his father in 1950. The present Baron is a resident of Jersey, Channel Islands.
Saint Oliver Plunkett was related to Barons of Louth. Also, Admiral Peter Warren was a female-line great-grandson of the fifth Baron.
