A barbed wire match is one of any number of professional wrestling matches that uses strands of barbed wire in some capacity. Simply using barbed wire in an otherwise regular hardcore match does not make the match a barbed wire match; the barbed wire must be part of the match's design.
Famous quotes containing the words wire and/or match:
“A new idea is rarely born like Venus attended by graces
More commonly its modeled of baling wire and acne.
More commonly it wheezes and tips over.”
—Marge Piercy (b. 1936)
“Auden, MacNeice, Day Lewis, I have read them all,
Hoping against hope to hear the authentic call . . .
And know the explanation I must pass is this
MYou cannot light a match on a crumbling wall.”
—Hugh MacDiarmid (18921978)
