ATP World Tour Finals Appearances

This list shows the appearances of all participants in the men's tennis ATP World Tour Finals singles since their inception as the Pepsi-Cola Masters in 1970. The current sponsor is Barclays, and they are currently held on hard courts indoors in the O2 Arena in London.

Since 1986, the tournament pits the top eight players on the ATP tour against each other in two groups in which they play three round-robin matches. Two players from each group advance to the semifinals, and the winners to the finals.

Before 1986, there were additional participants.

Participants are listed in order of number of appearances and number of wins. When there are more than eight players listed for any year since 1986, it is usually due to withdrawal because of injury. When a player withdraws early in the tournament, his place is filled by the next-highest qualifier.

Famous quotes containing the words world, tour and/or appearances:

When I tried to talk to my father about the kind of work I might do after college, he said, “You know, Charlotte, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to that, and it seems to me that the world really needs good, competent secretaries. Your English degree will help you.” He said this with perfect seriousness. I was an A student at Bryn Mawr ...
    Charlotte Palmer (b. c. 1925)

Left Washington, September 6, on a tour through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia.... Absent nineteen days. Received every where heartily. The country is again one and united! I am very happy to be able to feel that the course taken has turned out so well.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Truth has scarce done so much good in the world as the false appearances of it have done hurt.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
