Atopy

Atopy ( /ˈætəpi/; Greek ἀτοπία - placelessness, out of place, special, unusual) or atopic syndrome is a predisposition toward developing certain allergic hypersensitivity reactions. Atopy may have a hereditary component, although contact with the allergen must occur before the hypersensitivity reaction can develop.
