World's Largest Arms Importers
The units in this table are so-called trend indicator values expressed in millions of US dollars. These values do not represent real financial flows but are a crude instrument to estimate volumes of arms transfers, regardless of the contracted prices, which can be as low as zero in the case of military aid.

Famous quotes containing the words world, largest and/or arms:
“OUR WORLD IS TOPPLING. AFFECTIONATELY YOURS.”
—Josephine Baker (19061975)
“Figure him there, with his scrofulous diseases, with his great greedy heart, and unspeakable chaos of thoughts; stalking mournful as a stranger in this Earth; eagerly devouring what spiritual thing he could come at: school-languages and other merely grammatical stuff, if there were nothing better! The largest soul that was in all England.”
—Thomas Carlyle (17951881)
“His bold head
Bove the contentious waves he kept, and oared
Himself with his good arms in lusty stroke
To the shore.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
