In 2009 Jan Cerfontaine was appointed Chairman to the Board of Directors of Argenta Bank- en Verzekeringsgroep, Argenta Spaarbank and Argenta Assuranties. In 2010 Argenta launched a public issue of shares for which only Argenta customers and branch managers could subscribe to, with the newly established cooperative company Argenta Coöperatieve. In addition to the family shareholders, Argen-Co also invested in Argenta Bank- en Verzekeringsgroep. The family shareholders (Van Rompuy family) remained Argenta’s majority shareholders.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.
    Henry James (1843–1916)

The history of any nation follows an undulatory course. In the trough of the wave we find more or less complete anarchy; but the crest is not more or less complete Utopia, but only, at best, a tolerably humane, partially free and fairly just society that invariably carries within itself the seeds of its own decadence.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)

I assure you that in our next class we will concern ourselves solely with the history of Egypt, and not with the more lurid and non-curricular subject of living mummies.
Griffin Jay, and Reginald LeBorg. Prof. Norman (Frank Reicher)
