Area Code 246 - History

History

The 246 area code, or "BIM", perhaps short for "Bimshire" — was created during a split from the original +1 809 area code, which was done on or around the date July 1996. By 15 January 1997 all calls placed to Barbados required the use of the prefix +1 246 prefix.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Don’t give your opinions about Art and the Purpose of Life. They are of little interest and, anyway, you can’t express them. Don’t analyse yourself. Give the relevant facts and let your readers make their own judgments. Stick to your story. It is not the most important subject in history but it is one about which you are uniquely qualified to speak.
    Evelyn Waugh (1903–1966)

The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

What you don’t understand is that it is possible to be an atheist, it is possible not to know if God exists or why He should, and yet to believe that man does not live in a state of nature but in history, and that history as we know it now began with Christ, it was founded by Him on the Gospels.
    Boris Pasternak (1890–1960)
