Other Definitions of Efficiency in Antennas
The IEEE standard defines several other antenna parameters which include the word efficiency, such as
- aperture illumination efficiency for aperture-antennas.
- polarization efficiency; polarization mismatch factor.
These are unconnected and should not be confused with radiation efficiency, which is the most commonly used and implied term.

Famous quotes containing the words definitions and/or efficiency:
“The loosening, for some people, of rigid role definitions for men and women has shown that dads can be great at calming babiesif they take the time and make the effort to learn how. Its that time and effort that not only teaches the dad how to calm the babies, but also turns him into a parent, just as the time and effort the mother puts into the babies turns her into a parent.”
—Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)
“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your childrens infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married! Thats total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art scientific parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
