Antelope Valley Press - Editorial Outlook

Editorial Outlook

The newspaper's editorial page is conservative in its political stance, and has long leaned toward the Republican Party, although this is gradually changing under its current publisher to reflect the current population and opinion trends of newer Valley residents. As a result, it will often publish two opinion pieces of opposing persuasions, side-by-side. The featured writers in them increasingly are local residents with strongly held views, which can become controversial at times.

Famous quotes containing the words editorial and/or outlook:

I have been in the editorial business going on fourteen years, and it is the first time I ever heard of a man’s having to know anything in order to edit a newspaper.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

Even in ordinary speech we call a person unreasonable whose outlook is narrow, who is conscious of one thing only at a time, and who is consequently the prey of his own caprice, whilst we describe a person as reasonable whose outlook is comprehensive, who is capable of looking at more than one side of a question and of grasping a number of details as parts of a whole.
    G. Dawes Hicks (1862–1941)
