Mitchell is married to a G.P. and has two children, and lives in his constituency of Sutton Coldfield and in Islington in north London. His wealth is estimated at £2 million.
He is a Trustee of the E.M. Radiation Research Trust, which conducts research into radiation emissions, from sites such as mobile phone masts. He was also a Senior Strategy Adviser for Accenture, the management consultancy and technology outsourcing company.
