Combat Experience
In service only since 1992 (after the Gulf War), the Leclerc has no notable experience in true warzone environments, but has seen deployment on multiple low-intensity conflicts, including 15 AMX-56 Leclercs stationed in Kosovo (KFOR) and others in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the context of UN peace-keeping operations, where their performance was judged satisfactory by French officials.
Currently 13 Leclercs are deployed in the south Lebanon for a peacekeeping mission with the UNIFIL.

Famous quotes containing the words combat and/or experience:
“The combat ended for want of combatants.”
—Pierre Corneille (16061684)
“What is termed Sin is an essential element of progress. Without it the world would stagnate, or grow old, or become colourless. By its curiosity Sin increases the experience of the race. Through its intensified assertion of individualism it saves us from monotony of type. In its rejection of the current notions about morality, it is one with the higher ethics.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
