When Todd falls in love with the wealthy, high-spirited (aka slutty) Gina Jenner who lives next door, he is forced to choose between his safe existence in bubble-ed captivity and a chance at of the life he’s always wanted, but with the risk of imminent death.

Dangerous Beauty- Opened July 25, 2008; Music by Michele Brourman, Lyrics by Amanda McBroom, Book by Jeannine Dominy; Adapted from the screenplay The Honest Courtesan written by Jeannine Dominy, released as the film Dangerous Beauty Inspired by the scholarly book The Honest Courtesan by Margaret Rosenthal, Dangerous Beauty tells the tumultuous tale of Veronica Franco, a notorious courtesan/poet of 16th century Venice and features a score that combines the best of classical and pop musical styles. Veronica is forced to become a courtesan when her mother reveals that they have lost their fortune and therefore the marriage to the man she loves is impossible. She ultimately embraces the courtesan life because it affords her the means to an education and an active role in the cultural and political life of her beloved city. As Venice is ravaged by war, plague, and the Inquisition, Veronica is put on trial for Witchcraft. An epic story of passion, politics and poetry.

Famous quotes containing the word produced:

For the “superior morality” of which we hear so much, we too would desire to be thankful: at the same time, it were but blindness to deny that this “superior morality” is properly rather an “inferior criminality” produced not by greater love of Virtue, but by greater perfection of Police; and of that far subtler and stronger Police, called Public Opinion.
    Thomas Carlyle (1795–1881)
