Boundaries
This Cheshire/Wales boundary seat is part of the part industrial hinterland north of Wrexham and west of Chester. It was formerly known as East Flintshire until the 1983 boundary review, which saw it renamed after the Alyn and Deeside district created in 1974. The main population areas in the current seat include Shotton, Connah's Quay, Buckley, Hawarden and Caergwrle.
Following their 2003-6 review of parliamentary representation in Wales, the Boundary Commission for Wales left this constituency unchanged.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:
“Womens art, though created in solitude, wells up out of community. There is, clearly, both enormous hunger for the work thus being diffused, and an explosion of creative energy, bursting through the coercive choicelessness of the system on whose boundaries we are working.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
“It is the story-tellers task to elicit sympathy and a measure of understanding for those who lie outside the boundaries of State approval.”
—Graham Greene (19041991)
“Ideas are not thoughts; the thought respects the boundaries that the idea ignores thereby failing to realize itself.”
—Franz Grillparzer (17911872)
