Alvin Hellerstein

Alvin K. Hellerstein (born 1933 in New York, NY) is a senior judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and has been involved in several high-profile cases.

He was nominated by President Bill Clinton on May 15, 1998, to a seat vacated by Louis L. Stanton; Confirmed by the Senate on October 21, 1998, and received his commission on October 22, 1998. He took senior status on January 31, 2011.
