Alrewas

Alrewas (awl-ree-was) is a large village and civil parish within Lichfield District, in Staffordshire, England. It lies on the A38 road, approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Lichfield, and is just inside the national forest line. According to the English Place-Name Society the name means Alluvial land growing with alder trees (Anglo-Saxon Alor-wæsse).
