History
In 1940, a student union named Asom Chattra Sanmilani (Assam Students' Association) divided into the All Assam Student' Federation and the All Assam Students' Congress. A decade later they recombined as the All Assam Student' Association, which was later renamed to All Assam Students Union in January 1967. Famous quotes containing the word history:
“The History of the world is not the theatre of happiness. Periods of happiness are blank pages in it, for they are periods of harmonyperiods when the antithesis is in abeyance.”
—Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (17701831)
“Yet poetry, though the last and finest result, is a natural fruit. As naturally as the oak bears an acorn, and the vine a gourd, man bears a poem, either spoken or done. It is the chief and most memorable success, for history is but a prose narrative of poetic deeds.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The one duty we owe to history is to rewrite it.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
