The area has a constituency, the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (Aljunied GRC). with five members of parliament (MPs) sitting in the Parliament of Singapore. Aljunied GRC was won by the Worker's Party in Singapore General Elections 2011. Rather unfortunately, neither the Aljunied Industrial Estate, Aljunied Road, Aljunied Crescent nor the Aljunied MRT Station is located within the Aljunied GRC boundaries as of 2012 due to electoral boundaries redrawing.
