He is the youngest son of Clive Fiske Harrison. His brother Jules William Fiske Harrison was, according to The Times, a "famously skilled and fearless skiier" who died in a skiing accident in Zermatt, Switzerland in 1988.

Fiske-Harrison studied philosophy and biology at the Universities of Oxford and London and trained in acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York taking Bachelor & Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees.

He was at Oxford with, and was directed on the stage by, fellow British actor Hugh Dancy. Dancy and his wife, actress Claire Danes appear in Fiske-Harrison's book Into The Arena.

In 2011 the Daily Mail reported Fiske-Harrison was in a relationship with Antalya Nall-Cain, daughter of Lord Brocket, and he confirmed this in an interview in the Spanish newspaper ABC in 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words background, personal and/or life:

In the true sense one’s native land, with its background of tradition, early impressions, reminiscences and other things dear to one, is not enough to make sensitive human beings feel at home.
    Emma Goldman (1869–1940)

In contrast with envy, which usually occurs between two people and is focused upon another person’s qualities or possessions, jealousy occurs when a third person becomes a threat to a dyad. Jealousy involves the loss or the impending loss of a relationship that one wants to hold onto, a relationship that is vital to personal fulfillment and claimed as one’s own.
    Carol S. Becker (b. 1942)

The animal is one with its life activity. It does not distinguish the activity from itself. It is its activity. But man makes his life activity itself an object of his will and consciousness. He has a conscious life activity. It is not a determination with which he is completely identified.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
