Continuation
The series has been running from 1990s to 2010s, and is ongoing. There have been twenty books published so far, with at least one more on the way. Nearly all have made bestsellers lists and garnered favorable reviews, especially Double Cross, Cross Fire, I, Alex Cross, and Alex Cross, Run. The rebooted movie franchise is still running as well, with the latest film planned for a possible 2014 release.
The book series may be nearing an end, however, as indicated by the ending of Alex Cross, Run, though this has not been confirmed by Patterson, and its sequel, the twenty-first novel, Cross My Heart, is scheduled for release on November 25, 2013.
