Post WW2 Regional Wars

India and Pakistan fought wars in 1965 and 1971 during which air superiority was contested. Conditions ranged from near-parity in certain places for certain lengths of time to general air superiority by India. Pakistan has flown American, British, and a limited number of Chinese frames. Indians have generally equipped themselves with Soviet, a few domestic, and a limited number of Western designs.

Israel and its Arab neighbors have fought multiple air wars since 1948. The Israelis have maintained significant air superiority for most of this time. Israelis began with British and French designs and began using American designs. The Arabs have generally used Soviet designs.

Famous quotes containing the words post and/or wars:

I can forgive even that wrong of wrongs,
Those undreamt accidents that have made me
Seeing that Fame has perished this long while,
Being but a part of ancient ceremony
Notorious, till all my priceless things
Are but a post the passing dogs defile.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

There’s in people simply an urge to destroy, an urge to kill, to murder and rage, and until all mankind, without exception, undergoes a great change, wars will be waged, everything that has been built up, cultivated, and grown will be destroyed and disfigured, after which mankind will have to begin all over again.
    Anne Frank (1929–1945)
