Air Charter

Air charter is the business of renting an entire aircraft (i.e., chartering) as opposed to individual aircraft seats (i.e., purchasing a ticket through a traditional airline). While the airlines specialize in selling transportation by the seat, air charter companies focus on individual private aircraft and itineraries, urgent or time-sensitive cargo, air ambulance and any other form of ad hoc air transportation. These air charter companies offer a large variety of aircraft, such as helicopters, and business jets; This includes light jets, mid-size jets, super mid size jets, heavy jets, and airliners. Package holiday companies often charter aircraft specifically for the holidays they sell.

Famous quotes containing the words air and/or charter:

    A hook shot kisses the rim and
    hangs there, helplessly, but doesn’t drop

    and for once our gangly starting center
    boxes out his man and times his jump

    perfectly, gathering the orange leather
    from the air like a cherished possession
    Edward Hirsch (b. 1950)

    Farewell! thou art too dear for my possessing,
    And like enough thou know’st thy estimate:
    The charter of thy worth gives thee releasing;
    My bonds in thee are all determinate.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
