On Windmill Balk Lane has been the newly-built Outwood Academy Adwick, an Academy, since 2009. It replaced North Doncaster Technology College. Previous to this it had been Adwick School, and previous to that it was the co-educational Percy Jackson Grammar School, which became a comprehensive in 1968. The school is between the railway station and the A638.
