The Adelaide pigmy blue-tongue skink or pygmy bluetongue (Tiliqua adelaidensis) is a species of skink in the Scincidae family. Found only in Australia, it was for a time believed to be extinct. A small population is found outside Adelaide, but it is extremely vulnerable, given its small population and limited living area.
Famous quotes containing the word pigmy:
“I felt my cheek
Alter, to see the shadow pass away,
Whose grasp had left the giant world so weak
That every pigmy kicked it as it lay;”
—Percy Bysshe Shelley (17921822)
