Famous quotes containing the words exile and/or death:

    Ha, banishment? Be merciful, say “death”;
    For exile hath more terror in his look,
    Much more than death. Do not say “banishment!”
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    I cannot think this creature died
    By storm or fish or sea-fowl harmed
    Walking the sea so heavily armed;
    Or does it make for death to be
    Oneself a living armoury?
    Andrew Young (1885–1971)
