Abbey of Fontenay - Conclusion

Conclusion

The Abbey of Fontenay was constructed based on a renewal of the old spirituality, the Rule of Saint Benedict. It has stood silently for almost a thousand years, insisting on seeking the simplest, purest and strictest spiritual world. Although the monastery has a limited physical life, its spirit will last forever.

Famous quotes containing the word conclusion:

Girls who put out are tramps. Girls who don’t are ladies. This is, however, a rather archaic usage of the word. Should one of you boys happen upon a girl who doesn’t put out, do not jump to the conclusion that you have found a lady. What you have probably found is a lesbian.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1951)

Human affairs are so obscure and various that nothing can be clearly known. This was the sound conclusion of the Academic sceptics, who were the least surly of philosophers.
    Desiderius Erasmus (1469–1536)

The conclusion suggested by these arguments might be called the paradox of theorizing. It asserts that if the terms and the general principles of a scientific theory serve their purpose, i. e., if they establish the definite connections among observable phenomena, then they can be dispensed with since any chain of laws and interpretive statements establishing such a connection should then be replaceable by a law which directly links observational antecedents to observational consequents.
