A. K. Antony

Arackaparambil Kurien Antony (born 28 December 1940) is an Indian politician who is the current Defence Minister of India, and also the Member of Parliament (MP) from the upper house, Rajya Sabha, of Parliament. He previously served as the Chief Minister of the state of Kerala.

Antony presently serves as the President of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, Chairman of the Disciplinary Action Committee of the All India Congress Committee and member of the Central Election Committee and the Congress Working Committee. He is a senior member of the Cabinet Committees on Accommodation, Economic Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs, Political Affairs, and Security.
