The 981 Port Liberte-Grove Street is a bus route operated by Seven Bus Corporation, a Coach USA subsidiary, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, under contract to New Jersey Transit for its Wheels service. It connects Port Liberté with the Grove Street Port Authority Trans-Hudson station, operating entirely within the city of Jersey City. As of 2008, buses operate on weekdays only, with 14 trips from and 15 trips to Grove Street in downtown Jersey City.
On April 14, 2010, as part of system-wide budget cuts, New Jersey Transit announced that it was ending Route 981 effective May 2010. As of May 29, 2010, Port Liberte will have no public bus service. Port Liberte plans to expand its private shuttle service to provide residents with access to the Grove Street PATH station.

Famous quotes containing the words port and/or street:
“The triumphs of peace have been in some proximity to war. Whilst the hand was still familiar with the sword-hilt, whilst the habits of the camp were still visible in the port and complexion of the gentleman, his intellectual power culminated; the compression and tension of these stern conditions is a training for the finest and softest arts, and can rarely be compensated in tranquil times, except by some analogous vigor drawn from occupations as hardy as war.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“For now the moon with friendless light carouses
On hill and housetop, street and marketplace,
Men will plunge, mile after mile of men,
To crush this lucent madness of the face....”
—Allen Tate (18991979)
