Ban On Screeners
For this awards season, the Motion Picture Association of America initially banned distribution of screeners to Academy members, citing fears of piracy. After a judge overturned the ban, some studios rushed out screeners to Academy members. The MPAA later ended the ban after requiring all recipients to sign binding anti-piracy contracts.
