Famous quotes containing the words conference, human and/or rights:
“For 350 years we have been taught that reading maketh a full man, conference a ready man and writing an exact man. Footballs place is to add a patina of character, a deference to the rules and a respect for authority.”
—Walter Wellesley (Red)
“The necessary has never been mans top priority. The passionate pursuit of the nonessential and the extravagant is one of the chief traits of human uniqueness. Unlike other forms of life, mans greatest exertions are made in the pursuit not of necessities but of superfluities.”
—Eric Hoffer (19021983)
“Close by the Rights of Man, at the least set beside them, are the Rights of the Spirit.”
—Victor Hugo (18021885)
